JOHNO WELLS sample Library
Johno Wells is an ambient/experimental/electro sound designer, composer, and filmmaker based in San Diego, CA. He releases independently and also with Errorgrid Records.
He was classically trained on the piano as a child, and throughout his teens and 20's he recorded and toured in punk bands as a guitarist and songwriter. In the mid-nineties, with the birth of labels like Warp and Schematic, he focused his attention and efforts to releasing electronic music; first using hardware, then software, and ultimately modular synthesizers.
In 2020, Johno founded Modular World, a YouTube broadcast focused on building the global modular scene through performance shows, patch challenges, and spotlights on specific regions.
In winter 2021, Johno joined the QuBit team as a video and social media producer.
“This sample pack is rooted in what has become somewhat of my signature sound: textures of chaos and beauty within ambience and experimental glitch. Not my words, but I think they describe decently.
Sometimes it’s better to step away and let others describe what you do instead of trying to be “overly artful.” I have found this to be the case time and time again with what I do in graphic design, music and film.
So for this project (rather than trying to describe it) I really just wanted to create a sample pack I would use myself, so there’s a wide range of usefulness here…nice textures, ambiences, booming weirdness, top loops and a huge collection of one-shots. Enjoy!"
